Today I am very excited to introduce a guest writer. She has a very personal touch that I think you will all be able to relate to completely. Hopefully she will join us often posting new inspiration for us. Enjoy this introduction she wrote for us and see her upcoming post "Oh Lord… Who is Like YOU?"
God Bless Your Day,
Truly
Hello Readers,
I call myself Normal Mom (it falls somewhere between 'Horrible Mom' and 'Super Mom') and come to you after a brief hiatus from writing for the national website ClubMom.com. I left my former site (justanormalday.com) after my husband was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis two years ago and remain totally entranced with God's blessing of a readership that far exceeded my expectations. What a support they were to me as we began the journey through diagnosis and understanding of Honey's (my husband of 19 years!) disease!
We live in a place I call South Normal Town (somewhere between Florida and Tennessee) trying to raise three Normal Kids! I lovingly refer to them as Tech (15), Flower (10), and Princess (11). I'm a mid-forties, working woman constantly searching for deeper understanding of purpose, closer walk with our Lord, and steadfast faith through all life's twists and turns! I am also balancing the demands of a busy family, multiple volunteer commitments, a demanding job, and pestering addictions to Starbucks, fudge brownies and the only the finest, homemade guacamole.
I like to write in a free-form, expository way (fancy for: however the good Lord directs my typing fingers!) and tend to use equal amounts of humor, awe, and sarcasm. My favorite Scripture is Galatians 6:8-10. I believe in the value of a rowdy family game of Spoons. I don't like charades. I love moments of silence and I love the beach but I hate the sand and the ocean (go figure!). I love, love, love feedback from my readers. I hate, hate, hate exclusive behavior. My favorite prayer (in the words of my favorite author, Anne Lamott) is: "help me, help me, help me. Thank you, thank you, thank you!" Sometimes I'm grouchy.
Right at this moment, however, I am most excited to write again. To get to know you. To exercise God's call in trusting our Lord to my words for His inspiration!
