Are you praying these days? Are you praying knowing that you have an immediate answer to prayer through boldness and confidence in your God? Do you realize now that not one prayer goes without an immediate answer?
Psalm 183:3
When I called, you answered me;
you made me bold and stouthearted.
When did God answer David? When he called, not a few days later or when David saw the solution to his problem. No. God answered as soon as David called. How did God answer?
Psalm 183:3
When I called, you answered me;
you made me bold and stouthearted.
God answered. God made him bold, confident, stouthearted, less afraid and hopeful. God answers us in the same way.
Did you take time to consider how you would feel or even act in situations if you did not pray? Without prayer can you be bold and confident? Can you be hopeful and not afraid? Can you have any of this when you rely solely on circumstances of this world? Not you Christians. We Christians do not have to rely on the world to help us get through difficult times. We can use what is in this world to get us help, but we do not have to solely depend on the world with our problems and life situations. Right? Did I hear an amen out there?
Of course we do not have to depend on the world. We have Jesus at the right hand of our Father God interceding for us.
Romans 8:34
Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.
I want you to take a quick look at exactly what happens when you pray. Romans 8:34 tells us very plainly that Christ Jesus is at the right hand of God interceding for us. Christ is at the right hand of God interceding on your behalf. You! Me!
Hebrews 7:25 tells us that Jesus always lives to intercede for us.
Hebrews 7:25
Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.
Jesus did all that was needed to save us from sin when he died on that cross. Now Jesus has continuous presence with God in heaven and intercedes for us. The priests in the Old Testament that lived before Jesus and the new covenant of salvation, were used to intercede for the people. The priests went to God on behalf of the people. The priests interceded for the people just as Jesus interceded for our sin on the cross. Now Jesus sits at the right hand of God and when we pray, He intercedes for us. When we pray, each and every time, Jesus is with God interceding for us. Jesus is on our side. He works on our behalf.
Does God not hear our prayers without Jesus? Of course he hears our prayers regardless of the presence of Jesus. Did God not hear the prayers of the people in the Old Testament before Jesus arrived? Did God hear Moses, Abraham, David and Solomon? Yes. So yes God hears us but imagine his Son, the one who made the ultimate sacrifice for man, sitting beside him as we pray. Imagine God's pleasure in having his Son at his side as we pray. Imagine the constant sight in God's view of his Son, who made such a sacrifice for us.
When you pray know what happens. Jesus sits on the right hand of God, and intercedes on our behalf. Remember that when you pray today. Know that Jesus is there when you pray. He is there at the right hand of God while you pray. So often I forget this. So often I only think of God listening to my prayers, completely forgetting that my Lord and Saviour Jesus is participating. Yes, Jesus the Christ is participating. Yes, Jesus the Christ, we celebrate during this season of Christmas, is there in the presence of God as we pray. How awesome is that! This baby that was born to save the world, who grew into a man to die for us, hears our prayers to God and intercedes for us.
When you pray this week, remember what is actually happening when you pray. God is listening.
Jeremiah 29: 12
Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.
And Jesus is interceding. Jesus is there next to God on our behalf, a constant reminder of our righteousness in Him.
Romans 8:34
Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.
When you pray remember Jesus is there. Jesus is for you! Jesus will never forget you!
We as Christians encounter problems and difficulties no different that the rest of the world. We too have stress and bad things come to us because the world works on universal law and the freedom of choice for mankind. So we can't hide from things that happen in the world. They affect us also. We will have stresses, problems and maybe tragedies. However! However we Christians can pray. We can pray to our Creator, our Father, the one who created the heavens and the earth. We can pray to Him. We can talk to the Creator. We can pray to Him, call upon Him and know He listens.
And on top of all of that, we know that Jesus Christ, our Savior, sits at God's right hand as we pray. Jesus, at God's right hand, intercedes for us. We have problems! We live in this world of problems and difficult times! We experience difficulties and trials.
But
We get to pray!
We get to pray!
We have the privilege and great, great benefit to pray!
We can pray!
We can pray and get an immediate answer!
When we call on God, He answers.
We live in this world! We have problems just like everybody else! But we Christians, followers of Christ, we get to pray. We have the honor of praying. And when we pray, God listens and answers. And when we pray, Jesus Christ sits at the right hand of God, and intercedes for us. We Christians get to pray! What a privilege! What a gift! How spectacular is that? We get to pray!
And when we pray God answers. He makes us bold and stouthearted. I don't know about you, but I know God listens and I know Jesus listens and intercedes for me. And that does make me bold and stouthearted.
Enjoy prayer today, tomorrow and always knowing God listens, God answers, and Jesus Christ intercedes just for you. I hope that this was helpful to someone out there. I hope that this reminder or maybe revelation that Jesus is a participator in our prayer life, will help someone in prayer. It certainly has made me realize how very lucky I am that I, Truly, get to pray. I get to pray! When something bad happens or stressful comes about, I get to pray!
Thank you all for reading God's words pushed on paper through these hands. Thank you for giving me reason to continue on with great hope. I don't know what you may have gained from the Bible study, but I hope so very, very much it has somehow, someway brought you to a deeper love for God and a relationship of intimacy with your Father.
I do love you all so.
Truly
