Top of Your Helper's To Do List - Week 8 of God's Favor Series (Mini-Series Your Helper -Week 3)

Hi Ladies!
Your Personal Assistant Extraordinaire is ready for work! No more hemming and hawing about where to start with the list. God enlightened me on how to start that To-Do list for your Helper. So let's go!

Let's start with the Word of God.

John 14:26 AMP
But the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will help you remember everything that I have told you.

The Holy Spirit was sent to represent Jesus and teach us, just as Jesus did while on earth. Our Helper will speak only what he hears from God. He will guide us only in truth. We can learn from the Holy Spirit!

John 16:13 AMP
But when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth [full and complete truth]. For He will not speak on His own initiative, but He will speak whatever He hears [from the Father—the message regarding the Son], and He will disclose to you what is to come [in the future].

This week we will focus only on John 14:26 - He will teach you all things. And He will help you remember everything that I have told you.

Did you catch the last part of that verse? Our very own Personal Assistant, Helper, will help us remember what we learned. He will guide you to remember a verse for meditation, prayer, comfort, wisdom or whatever its purpose. Your dear Helper will remind you of God's Word and his goodness throughout your day. When you stop to ponder a word or message of God, note that thought was from your Helper. This pause is your PA tapping lightly on your shoulder, squeezing your hand gently, gliding past you in a breeze to serve as a prompt to your mind. It is a cause to bring your thoughts to heaven and away from earth briefly. The Holy Spirit is acting out his job to arouse your spirit to see spiritual things more.

In the midst of your loaded schedule your constant companion and Helper will bring God's Word to you in a thought, action, vision or experience in your day. When this occurs relish it ladies! Your sweet Holy Spirit is awakening you even if for a few short moments. He awakens your earthly self to see through your spiritual eyes at the goodness of God.

Savor this! Take absolute pleasure in appreciating your Helper and the crucial job that he does. His commission to assist you is from God Almighty.

Now knowing this remarkable trait operating in our Personal Assistant, we can recognize it and actually request more of it.

Add it to the top of your To-Do List assigned to your Helper

To-Do List for my Helper (sent by God):
  1. Remind me of God's love and goodness.
  2. Open my eyes to God's favor.
  3. Call to my mind the Word of God and his truths.
  4. Help me recall a verse that I need.
  5. Keep in my mind the Word of God.

If anyone can possibly help me remember things, especially God's Word and his love, I will pay big bucks. But I don't have to pay a cent. This exceptional aid in remembering is a free gift from God. It is completely at our disposal all the time. Maybe we just never looked at it that way or understood how to take advantage of such a gift.

Now we do!

I know we have veered off the path a bit from our "God's Favor" Series to focus on our Helper. I may need to turn this so called mini-series into a solo act in the future. I just can't help but write what I feel compelled in my heart to put down. So not to worry, God's Favor has more to say soon. However the gift of the Holy Spirit is certainly God's favor in action.

This week let the Holy Spirit remind you of a verse about him! Focus your thoughts on this portion of John14:26.

 John 14:26 AMP
He will teach you all things. And He will help you remember everything that I have told you.

Also start your To-Do List for your Helper with my suggestions. Talk to the Holy Spirit. Tell him you need reminders. And they will come!
